Hone Events is a volunteer and family-driven venture that has been deeply immersed in the pop culture community of Townsville, Queensland, for over a decade. Their love for pop culture led them to create the Townsville Pop Fest, an event that brings the excitement of big-town conventions to regional Queensland. While the festival itself is relatively new, it has quickly gained popularity among enthusiasts and celebrates everything from comics, sci-fi, anime, gaming, cosplay and more! This event aims to provide a platform for fans to connect and revel in their shared interests.
Townsville Pop Fest 2024 is set to be bigger and better than its inaugural year by providing a community centric family fun day full of entertainment and excitement. Set to take place on Sunday 9th June at Townsville Stadium, 2024.
Some of the activities on offer this year are:
– State-of-the-Art Virtual Reality Games provided by Virtual World Rockhampton: Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or a curious newcomer, your senses will be visually, physically, and emotionally astonished.
– Epic Gaming Tournaments provided by Quarter Circle Dojo (Super Smash Brothers, Tekken, etc) and DeckaDice Mackay (Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc).
– Over 40 pop culture vendors which will surely have you finding the perfect piece for your collection or uncovering a new treasure!
– Townsville’s only competitive Cosplay Competition where enthusiasts can showcase their creativity and craftsmanship! With prizes on offer for armour, props, tailoring, creativity and artistry.
