The Apple & Grape Harvest Festival started in 1966, in Stanthorpe, Queensland. It is a biennial event celebrating the area’s rich produce and wine. Spanning 10 days in late February/early March in even years, the festival features wine tastings, fresh local produce markets, cultural performances, and family activities. It’s a community-focused event that unites visitors and locals, boosting Stanthorpe’s economy by attracting thousands of visitors.
Stanthorpe is located heart of the Granite Belt Wine Region, on the New England Highway just north of the NSW border. At 800 to 1,200 metres altitude it’s Queensland’s cool high country and ideal for growing apples and grapes! Stanthorpe is Queensland’s premier wine growing region with 50+ wineries and nearly 40 cellar doors and it’s where all of Queensland’s apples are grown. Reach Stanthorpe less than three hours drive from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Armidale, Dalby and Goondiwindi and two hours from Toowoomba.
