The festival spans three weeks, allowing ample time for visitors to immerse themselves in its offerings.
Vivid Sydney, an annual extravaganza, has captivated millions with its stunning light displays, electrifying music, and inspiring ideas since its inception in 2009. Founded by the New South Wales (NSW) Government’s Destination NSW agency, its mission was to showcase Sydney’s global creative hub and technological prowess. Over the years, it has grown exponentially in scale and popularity, drawing international acclaim.
We go most years and it does get pretty crowded, so plan ahead and book parking if coming by car, or preferably, utilise Sydney’s extensive public transport system. Also, it can get bit chilly so rug-up!
Vivid Sydney transforms iconic Sydney landmarks, including the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Customs House, Circular Quay, and the Royal Botanic Garden, into mesmerizing canvases for light installations.
