Kuranda Roots Festival celebrates the creative magic of the Kuranda and Far North Queensland community, alongside global guests, cultural and well-being workshops, and a food and craft market village
Set amidst the lush tropical backdrop of Far North Queensland, not far from Cairns, the Kuranda Roots Festival has carved out a niche as Australia’s longest-running reggae, roots, soul, and cultural festival. Held in July (July 12 to 14, 2024) the festival marks its impressive 22nd anniversary in 2024, continuing a tradition of vibrant music and rich cultural exchange.
Each year, the festival attracts an eclectic mix of music enthusiasts, from families to free-spirited adventurers, all converging to experience a lineup that celebrates diversity and unity through sound. The event has historically showcased an array of talent, with past performers like Simon Asquith, Ash Grunwald, King Tide, Melatonin, and Mystic Beats.
Held in the heart of the rainforest, the setting adds an element of enchantment to the event, with the sounds of reggae and roots music echoing through the trees. This atmosphere is enhanced by the community vibes and the array of activities available for attendees of all ages.
