Set in the vibrant Red Centre this is a one-of-a-kind celebration found now where else in the world to the best of our knowledge. This event showcases over 6,600 unique beanies, crafted by 500 global beanie makers, at the Araluen Arts Centre. Yes, there will be Beanies for sale!
Spanning four days, the festival is a hub of creativity and cultural exchange, featuring exhibitions, Indigenous workshops, textile classes, and live music. The festival, renowned for its warmth, fun, and colorful atmosphere, is expected to draw around 7,000 visitors from all corners of the globe, all eager to find the perfect beanie.
Chief Beaniologist in 2024, Jo Nixon, anticipates 2024 to be the most successful yet, highlighting the festival’s role in fostering cross-cultural interactions, particularly with artists from remote Indigenous communities in Central Australia.
This event owes much of its success to the dedication of 120 volunteers who contribute tirelessly to make the festival a memorable experience for all. Our thanks to each and everyone of them.
